Senior Internships: Class of 2025

Dear Students of the Class of 2025,

We are incredibly proud of the many ways you have contributed to our school community. As you embark on your senior year, it’s a perfect time to explore career opportunities and build valuable skills. The Senior Internship Program provides a unique chance to gain real-world experience, develop transferable skills, and establish connections in potential career fields—all while still in high school.

The program runs from April 10, 2025, to May 16, 2025, and is open to seniors who meet the eligibility requirements. Below, you’ll find key details about the program:

Eligibility Requirements

To participate in the Senior Internship Program, students must:

  • Maintain a grade of C- or higher in all final grades and current grades (including Quarter 4).

  • Have fewer than 8.5 unexcused absences in any class during Semester 2 (note: two tardies equal one absence).

Program Details

  • Application Deadline: Applications must be submitted by the deadline. Completed applications should be emailed to Ms. Manos at meaghan.manos@reading.k12.ma.us.
  • Internship Dates: Internships will take place from April 10, 2025, to May 16, 2025, totaling 100 hours.
  • Student Responsibility: Students are encouraged to independently secure internships aligned with their career interests and passions. RMHS does not place students in internships, as finding and applying for opportunities is an essential part of the learning process.
  • Compensation: While some internships may be unpaid, community partners are encouraged to provide paid opportunities.
  • AP Course Students: Students enrolled in AP courses must remain in those courses until the completion of the AP exams. They may begin internships on an abbreviated schedule until exams are finished.
  • Internship Showcase: A mandatory Internship Fair will be held on May 16, 2025, where all participants will present their experiences to community partners and peers.
  • Final Grade Policy: The grades from the first three quarters (Q1, Q2, and Q3) and the midterm exam will determine your final course grade. The 4th quarter grade will not be weighted during the internship period.

Important Notes

  • If a student does not complete the internship or final project, they will receive an “Incomplete” (I) on their transcript until all requirements are fulfilled. This could impact graduation eligibility.
  • Students must maintain strong academic performance and attendance throughout the program to remain eligible.

How to Apply

  • The application was emailed to all seniors from Ms. Manos.

Internship Showcase

  • We will host a Community Partner Internship Showcase on May 19, 2025, from 11:33 AM to 1:03 PM.

  • This event is an excellent opportunity to celebrate your hard work and network with professionals. Students are encouraged to seek their own internship opportunity based on their career interests and passions.

Thank you for your dedication and enthusiasm. We look forward to supporting you in this exciting opportunity!

Sincerely,

Kadi Buckley

Director of Academic Achievement & Assistant Principal, Grade 12
